Do We Really Need A Website?
Thrift Stores - the eBay Sellers' Supermarket
Walk through any thrift store and youre bound to bump into an eBay Powerseller or two replenishing their eBay inventory. The truth is there are still good bargains available at thrift stores for resale on eBay if youre astute enough to spot them. While its true youll probably pay more at a thrift store than you would at a garage sale, the prices for some items are still low enough for you to make a decent profit. The key, of course, is to do enough research on eBay to know what types of used items are hot sellers. And, I dont mean a quick little glance. I mean really do your homework. For example, if youre interested in buying and selling used mens shirts, go to eBay and perform searches for used mens shirt, nearly new shirt, gently worn and all the other synonyms you can find for used. Go through the vintage category and the collectibles cultures, ethnicities for Hawaiian shirts. Research the labels. Note any patterns and colors. Do some sizes sell better than others? (I always found I had a harder time selling mens shirts in size small).Do the same type of research with all the used items you may find at a thrift store: clothing, shoes, boots (especially used cowboy boots), purses, books (dont ignore cookbooks they can sometimes sell very well, especially the Betty Crocker Pie Cover cookbook). When you find a thrift store or two (or, hopefully, more) that offers good quality used products go back often as new items are added every day. With used clothing its very important to thoroughly check for any tears or stains, because once you buy it, its yours, you cant take it back. I once bought several collectible Hawaiian shirts I had checked for tears and stains, but failed to check the collars. When I got them home I found they all had a bad case of ring around the collar which didnt come out in the wash. Of course, I had to disclose that in my descriptions on eBay. The shirts sold, but for less than what they could have sold for in better condition. Also, check for any odors that may be tough to get out with washing or dry cleaning. (Do make sure you wash or dry clean all used clothing you list on eBay.) While its true that used clothing and other items do sell well on eBay, your research will help you spot items with which youll actually make a profit. Theres a thought out there among some that you can slap anything on eBay and make money. Not true. If you dont do your research you may find yourself losing money. Dont just assume theres a sucker born every minute and that anything will sell on eBay. Without proper research you might end up finding out the sucker is you.
Business Marketing Online
Many people are starting Online Businesses, but learning on the fly, so to speak, how to get traffic to their sites. A big factor to be considered is how much will it cost to get the traffic to your web site. I recently wrote two articles, one about specific landing pages and the second about matching keywords to specific landing pages. This time I am going to cover the cost of each keyword. In other words how much should you pay for each phrase or keyword? You can recognize the demand for online business by looking at the searches made on the search engines. They are phrases like business conferencing meeting online web, advertising business online web, business free online site web, online web business opportunity, business hosting online page web, "online business" web hosting and business create online site web opportunity just to mention a few. There is much that is to be learned about this topic and I'm only going to scratch the surface in this article, but it should get you started off correctly. There are many factors to consider that can make a big difference in your profit. You should ensure that you have a different landing page on your site for each area of you business. For example on my site I have a landing page for Work At Home, Top 10 business, Home Based Business, Moms Jobs, Affiliates, Data Entry, Online Paid Surveys and a link to my real time newsletter. If you are utilizing one of the tools available to us called (PPC) Paid Per Click Advertising, whereby we pay a search engine pennies to show our ad when someone types in particular keyword. As I mentioned in my other article you must break up your keywords in such a manner as to have all of your keywords on a given topic sent to the specific landing page. For example you should have all Work At Home keywords go to your landing page, which is mostly about Work At Home ideas. Like wise have you keywords on Home Based Business go to the landing page that highlights Home Based Business Opportunities. In addition you don't want to bidding against your self so you want to make sure that you don't mix and match your keywords. You will want to advertise only the keywords that match a specific landing page when using (PPC) Paid Per Click Advertising. Don't have Work At Home keywords mixed in with Online Paid Surveys sending people to multiple landing Pages. You will want to use multiple variation of a given keyword. Think about the conversation going on in your customer's head. What would you type in if you were searching for the same thing? What would others type? Don't just set you campaigns to run on a maximum price per click. Do some research to see how much a particular keyword is being searched for. If it is not one of the most popular decrease you bid amount. Once you have done this monitor it over a couple of weeks or a month so you can see if you getting the same amount of clicks. Search engines are not always going to give you the best price. Some of the big ones are pretty fair, but I want control of these things myself. Many of my keywords are half the price of some of the major ones. Before I learned this though, many search engines were charging me full price when it was not warranted.Every subtle change in your website landing page, keywords, keyword bidding, no matter how minuscule, has an effect on your customer. I always recommend change, monitor, analyze, modify and keep continuing the process. Compare the new change to the old one so that you can see which landing page converts best.Once you have had your website going for awhile there is always much more fine tuning to do.Please feel free to read more of this article by visiting my link in the resource box below. I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles or my site. Your feedback is important to me.

A closer look at work from home
There is no denying in the tremendous increase in the number of online businesses in the past 10 years, not only in the USA, but just about any place where computers can be accessed easily. As we all know that, among many online businesses run by good and honest people, there are some online businesses run by bad and unscrupulous people whose primary objective is to con money out of unsuspecting naive people who are desperately looking online for jobs due to their circumstances such as being a stay-home-parent with kids, wheelchair bound, or whatever their unique circumstances could be that made them think that online jobs made more sense. I decided to look around online, about 2 years ago, after seeing so many popups about home based jobs such as paid online surveys, freelance jobs, etc to see if they were another one of online schemes to rip you off. After I signed up with many of them, of course I couldn't check all, and receiving hundreds, if not thousands, of junk emails from them I was able to tell which ones were good and bad. As in real life, we have to be careful and take some precautions by finding out if there is a physical address of business or a phone number or even by checking it out on BBB.org (Better Business Bureau) online before typing in our sensitive information.
A Goose That Lays Golden Eggs
Even as a middle-aged adult, I am fascinated by the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. It would be wonderful to find something like a goose that lays golden eggs. You just give it a warm place in the barn and feed it a little grain every day, and presto!, it provides you with an endless supply of riches. Just a little over two months ago, I stumbled upon just such a thing: marketing products through the internet. Absurd! you may say, or What has this guy been smoking? you may ask. But, consider the following factors before you pass judgment:You can set up your own internet marketing business in just a few hours for much less than $100 (yes, only two zeroes; this is not a typo). You can create and sell your own products for nothing more than the cost of your own time and the electricity it takes to run your computer; or you can create nothing yourself and sell other peoples products for unusually high commission rates. You can sell physical products if you wish, or you can sell information products, which require no physical inventory, no storage costs, no shipping costs, and involve absolutely no environmental impact (what about the electricity, you ask? Perhaps a valid question, but lets face it, if you werent doing something useful with the few cents of electricity your marketing efforts consumed every day, you would still have your computer on while you are surfing the net or playing video games, right?). You have light-speed access to a potential market of hundreds of millions of customers, but you dont have to summon up the energy and wear out the shoe leather required to actually knock on hundreds of millions of doors. Perhaps the most remarkable thing about "internet marketing" is the existence of an enormous network of like minds out there in cyberspace who are willing and able to help you set up your own business, in many cases at no charge to you, through discussion forums, on-line courses and free or inexpensive software. The mysteries of domain registration, web hosting, e-mail autoresponders, e-book publishing, payment processing and web design are very simple to solve with a little work using easily accessible resources. Internet marketing is the only business opportunity I know of today where a person can start with almost no capital and be up and running and collecting revenue within just a few days. Of course, there is no free lunch. You have to work at it (even Jack had to find grain to feed the goose . . .), but teachers are out there waiting for you if you take the time to look.
